The playoffs are still in reach for the San Francisco Giants, who entered their series with the Detroit Tigers under .500.

However, after pitching lefty star Carlos Rodon on Tuesday, the Giants have another strong starter on the mound in Wednesday’s afternoon matchup with Logan Webb (11-6, 3.08 ERA) getting the ball.

Detroit has Matt Manning (0-1, 2.81 ERA) on the bump for his seventh start of the 2022 campaign. While the Tigers can’t seem to win in Manning’s starts, he has pitched well, allowing three or fewer runs in all but one outing.

Here are the odds from DraftKings for Wednesday’s afternoon showdown:

Giants vs. Tigers Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line:

  • Giants -1.5 (-110)
  • Tigers +1.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Giants: -180
  • Tigers: +155

Total:

  • 7.5 (Over -115/Under -105)

Giants vs. Tigers Prediction and Pick

Usually this would be a no-brainer to back the Giants, as Webb has been one of the better pitchers in baseball over the last two seasons, but his stats over his last five starts are a bit concerning.

Webb has 4.35 ERA over that stretch, giving up 33 hits in 31.0 innings. The Giants are just 2-3 in those games. The bright side? Webb is facing the offense with the fewest runs scored in MLB this season on Wednesday.

Manning has held his own in the 2022 season, and two of his last three starts have been seven-inning performances with one or fewer runs allowed.

This feels like a bounce-back spot for Webb, but given Manning’s success in 2022, I actually like the UNDER in this matchup. The Tigers’ offense is terrible, even over the last 15 days, ranking 27th in OPS and runs scored.

I’ll give Manning the benefit of the doubt to keep this low-scoring, and the Tigers do rank eighth in the league in bullpen ERA. Give me the UNDER with Webb turning things around for San Fran.

Lean: UNDER 7.5 (-105)
