Wait, we're still making Aaron Sanchez a favorite in 2022? Something must be amiss, because Sanchez is awful. Not even the struggling San Francisco Giants should find themselves underdogs today, and I'm happy to fade the Minnesota Twins with this turkey-tosser on the mound.

Sanchez has a 7.36 ERA this season and hasn't lasted through the sixth inning a single time. Jakob Junis, on the other hand, is coming off a pair of strong performances and looks to be fully recovered from injury.

I'll admit that the Giants are horrible as road underdogs, going just 1-8 in their last nine, but Sanchez is the perfect remedy for any struggling lineup.

Nope, I'm not crazy. The Twins really are favored with Aaron Sanchez pitching. I guess it's Christmas in August, because sportsbooks wrapped up a lovely present for us here. It's got a bow and everything.

Take a look at Sanchez's MLB Statcast Pitching Profile and tell me with a straight face you're comfortable backing him as a favorite:

That's what I thought! He's terrible, and even San Francisco should be able to generate some runs today.

As a cherry on top, Junis looks really sharp of late. He's thrown 13.2 innings over his last two starts, allowing four runs and issuing zero walks. Minnesota struggles against left-handed pitchers, and Junis' expected FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) in those two outings was 2.20 and 2.60. He's truly a strong starter, with the Giants winning in seven of his last 10 appearances.

Give me the Giants to pick up the win as Sanchez struggles and Junis continues his steady play.

Pick: Giants (-101)
