Since the start of last season, the Milwaukee Bucks have been my pick to win the NBA title. Until Khris Middleton got hurt, I was extremely confident in my pick. Even heading into Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, I was confident about the Bucks’ chances to get to the Finals, but just fell short.

Nevertheless, I’ve spent all offseason imploring anyone who’d listen to bet the Bucks to win the title. And I’m doing it again right now.

Milwaukee is 6-0 and Khris Middleton hasn’t played a minute this year. While Milwuakee’s offense has suffered without him (17th in offensive rating), the Bucks have held the fort down. They have the best defense in the league and have the 3rd-best net rating in the league. When Middleton returns, they have even more room to improve in both categories.

The Bucks are currently tied with the Celtics as the favorite to win the NBA title. While it isn’t always fun to bet on the favorite, now is the time to get on the Bucks’ bandwagon because there won’t be a lot of space for long.

Milwaukee’s odds are going to drop further and further throughout the season – especially if it continues on this path.

On top of Middleton coming back, the Bucks are also waiting the return of Pat Connaughton. He was the third-leading scorer for Milwaukee in the Boston series and was their only viable three-point shooter. When he and Middleton return, Milwaukee’s offense is going to have more space than it’s had since the end of last regular season, which will mark the return of an elite Milwaukee offense.
