The Vegas Golden Knights and Los Angeles Kings are ready to get back to action tonight after an extended holiday break. The pair meet in LA and is the first game between the two this season. With both squads playing above-average hockey before the break this is the game to watch on Tuesday night in the NHL.

The Golden Knights have been on a tear so far in December winning eight of their last 10 games. The hot streak leaves them in first place in the Pacific Division with a 20-12-0 overall record. Las Vegas did most of this while suffering a myriad of injuries and is only now getting healthy. This could mean that we have yet to see the best of this team.

While the Kings are not on a run like the Golden Knights in December, they are playing solid hockey and are currently fifth in the Pacific Division. LA is .500 in their last 10 games and is 5-3-2 in division play so far. With just a few points separating them from a Wil-Card spot, the Kings will be playing hard to keep pace with the rest of the pack.

Golden Knights vs. Kings Prediction and Pick

Now that the Golden Knights are getting back to full strength, they become a much harder team to bet against. One stat that stands out to me is that, despite their winning record, they are one of the worst teams to bet on against the spread in the entire league. The Knights are in the bottom five in the NHL with a 12-20 record against the spread. Even after getting a lot of their roster back, they are still 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games and 2-3 in their last five.

On the other hand, the Kings are one of the best teams in the NHL against the spread this season. They rank second only to the Anaheim Ducks with a 20-10 ATS record and a 4-1 mark in their last five.

I think that the Knights still manage a win but this game is a lot closer than the odds suggest, There is no real value on the spread here with the Kings -190 but I do think they limit the Golden Knights on offense. The Kings have the edge at the goalie position and will be up against an offense without their head coach.

Pick: Las Vegas Golden Knights UNDER 3 Goals (-105)
