Golden Knights vs Kings Prediction: Vegas to Establish Dominance in Pacific Division
The Vegas Golden Knights squeaked by with a win on opening night of the NHL season, taking down the Seattle Kraken 4-3.
They now travel to Los Angeles to serve as the opponent for the Kings opening game of the season.
California teams had a rough 2020-21 season, as the three squads (Kings, Sharks and Ducks), finished in 25th, 26th and 30th place in the NHL standings. The Kings will try to get back to their winning ways, and they have a chance to do that in the Pacific division, which is projected to be the weakest in the NHL this season.
The Golden Knights should have no issue capturing the division crown. They can take a step in that direction with a win in Los Angeles tonight.

Golden Knights vs. Kings Prediction and Pick
The Golden Knights have got the better of the Kings in recent history, going 6-2 against them in their last eight meetings. I expect that trend to continue tonight so I’ll be backing Vegas at -155 on the moneyline.
I’m surprised that the Golden Knights are listed at as short of a price as -155. Whether it’s the fact that they’re on the road or if it’s due to only beating the Kraken by a goal on opening night, I think we’re getting some value on the Vegas moneyline in this game.
The Kings struggled to put the puck in the net last season, only notching a total of 143 goals. That won’t fly against a Golden Knights team that is explosive on offense. If you can’t score goals, good luck keeping pace.
Give me the Golden Knights tonight at -155.
Pick: Golden Knights -155
