After a disappointing loss to Buffalo last night, the 32-22-4 Vegas Golden Knights are just 4-8 over their last dozen games and find themselves at risk of losing a spot in the playoffs as they take on the 34-15-9 Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at 7:00 PM EST.

Pittsburgh beat the Knights 5-3 back in January and look to snap a two-game losing streak of their own, albeit against two of the best teams in hockey in Florida and Carolina.

With just four goals combined over their last three matchups, can the Golden Knights find the offense to keep up or will the rested Penguins take advantage of a struggling opponent to get back in the win column?

Let's have a look at the odds over at WynnBET to pick a winner:

Golden Knights vs Penguins Odds and Total

Moneyline:

  • Penguins -175
  • Golden Knights +155

Puck line:

  • Golden Knights +1.5 (-175)
  • Penguins -1.5 (+140)

Total:

  • 6.5 (Over -140/Under +125)

Golden Knights vs Penguins Prediction and Pick

It's desperation time for the Golden Knights. They need wins, and quickly, to maintain a playoff spot. But their offense has been anemic and they just aren't creating the goal scoring opportunities they need to, even against bad teams like Buffalo or Ottawa.

Their poor offensive performance has helped the under go 7-2 in Vegas' last nine games, including hitting in three straight. The under is 3-1-1 in the Penguins' last five as they've turned up the defensive pressure, so I love getting plus money at under 6.5 in this one.

I'd like to say that the Penguins should win, but they're just 2-7 in their last nine home games and we should see a fully-focused, desperate Golden Knights bunch.

I'll stick with the under as my top play as all the trends support it. I expect it to move to 8-1-1 in the Knights' last 10 on the road as their defensive has to compensate for their poor offensive form.

Pick: Under 6.5 (+125)
