The No. 1 team in the land Gonzaga hits the road to face arguably their toughest test in conference play this season against San Francisco, who will look to take down the almighty Bulldogs.

The Dons are tracking towards an NCAA Tournament berth, but a monumental win would solidify their case. Can they stay within what seems like a short spread for the national powerhouse? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Gonzaga vs. San Francisco Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Gonzaga: -10 (-110)
  • San Francisco: +10 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Gonzaga: -525
  • San Francisco: +450

Total: 157 (Over -110/Under -110)

Gonzaga vs. San Francisco Prediction and Pick

It seems weird that the Zags are laying just 10 points, but San Francisco has held up nicely against Gonzaga under young coach Todd Golden. The Dons trailed by three at half last month in Spokane and in 2020 nearly upset them in the WCC Tournament.

Well, Golden has his best group in San Fran and will look to do the unthinkable. This group is talented enough to make the NCAA Tournament, but I'm not sure I can trust them to stay close against a Gonzaga team that has become unstoppable defending the rim with Chet Holmgren coming into his own down low. The Dons take a ton of 3s, but their best offense comes from inside which may run into trouble against Holmgren.

Not to mention, the team has been prone to second half collapses in WCC play to the likes of BYU and St. Mary's over the past month. While the team may be worth a look in the first half, I think the Zags eventually overwhelm the underdogs and cruise to a victory.

Keep an eye on if the likes of big man Yauhen Massalski can stay out of foul trouble, the Dons are fouling at the highest rate in the conference since start of league play and can't afford to go too deep into their bench.

LEAN: Gonzaga -10
