The Dallas Cowboys' Super Bowl hopes in 2021 will hinge on Dak Prescott returning to form and an improved defense under new coordinator Dan Quinn. Precott is on the mend following a season-ending ankle injury in 2020, and Dallas has been busy signing Quinn's former players in Keanu Neal and Damontae Kazee to help out the defense.

The potential is there for the Cowboys if these two key factors pan out. Dallas is a dark-horse pick to win the Super Bowl at +3500 odds on WynnBET.

Some fans may struggle talk themselves into a Super Bowl at this moment given the unknown of Prescott and the changes on defense. But there is one good sign going the Cowboys' way.

The Stanford women's basketball team winning this year's NCAA Tournament could be good omen for the Cowboys. The Cardinal last won the championship in 1992. The Super Bowl directly after that was Super Bowl XXVII, which featured Dallas beating the Buffalo Bills at Rose Bowl Stadium.

This year's Super Bowl is also in California. And it directly follows a Stanford win in the women's tournament. Fate could have the Cowboys as Super Bowl winners this season.

The Cowboys' roster was loaded in 1992. Franchise greats Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin were at the height of their powers. They had one of the best offensive lines in football history and Hall-of-Fame coach Jimmy Johnson leading them as well.

There's still reasons to believe in a run by Dallas this season. Prescott got off to a blazing start in 2020 and would've been an MVP contender if he stayed healthy. He'll return to lead an offense featuring Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb.

Quinn's arrival will hopefully boost the defense as well after his success in Seattle with the Legion of Boom. The team's No. 10 pick in the draft also gives them the perfect opportunity to nab a defensive playmaker to continue Dallas' defensive transformation.

If there was a year for the Cowboys to put it all together, this is certainly it. Destiny could be on their side thanks to Stanford.
