The Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors are in a hotly contested series in the Western Conference semifinals as the series shifts to Golden State.

Ja Morant scored 47 points in Game 2 to lead the Grizzlies to a win, and the Warriors lost their primary Ja Morant defender when Dillon Brooks injured Gary Payton II early in the first quarter. Payton has a fractured elbow and is likely done for the playoffs.

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson haven’t gotten going early in this series, but can they turn things around at home?

Grizzlies vs. Warriors Prediction and Pick

I still think the Warriors will win this series, but I’m not not sold on them doing it easily without Payton.

The Warriors were plus-9.8 points per 100 possessions when Payton was on the floor this season. He's not the flashiest name on the roster, but he's elite in his role, and the Warriors have already shown they're going to have a hard time filling the gap.

Steve Kerr went to Damion Lee in a few spurts following the Payton injury, but it is possible that rookie Moses Moody or veteran Juan Toscano-Anderson also see some playing time in this series for defensive purposes.

Whoever draws the Morant assignment is going to have to be better after the All-Star guard averaged 40.5 points per game in Memphis to start the series.

Golden State hasn’t been able to get up big on this Grizzlies team, and even at home 6.5 points feels like a few too many, especially since Memphis is the best team ATS this season.

Lean: Grizzlies +6.5 (-108)
