The 7-9 Cleveland Guardians bring a four-game losing streak into Los Angeles tonight as they take on the 10-7 Angels at 9:38 p.m. EST.

Cleveland has just seven runs in their last four games and face Patrick Sandoval on the mound today. He's yet to give up an earned run across eight innings in two starts this year, but he's been hit hard and his advanced metrics suggest regression is coming.

Triston McKenzie gets the call for the Guardians and he's one of my favorite young pitchers in the game. After getting just one strikeout in his first start, he's totaled 10 in his last two.

Can Los Angeles extend Cleveland's losing streak behind another strong performance from Sandoval or will McKenzie and the Guardians finally get back on track?

Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to help us find out ahead of this Guardians vs Angels matchup:

Run Line:

  • Guardians +1.5 (-145)
  • Angels -1.5 (+120)

  • Angels: -157

Total:

Guardians vs Angels Prediction and Pick

Neither pitcher can be expected to go deep in this game. Patrick Sandoval has thrown four innings in each of his first two starts and Triston McKenzie hasn't made it past 4.1 innings in any of his three outings.

That means both squads will rely on their bullpens. Generally, that's bad news for each, as neither bullpen is particularly good, but it's worse for Los Angeles. They're sixth-worst in bullpen ERA this season and have pitched each of their top three relievers in two of their last three games.

Cleveland's bullpen is rested and their lineup is due for a big day. I expect Sandoval to pitch well, but the relievers to let him down. That gives the Guardians value today as big underdogs and I'll happily take a shot on them to come out with a win.

But, I also love the under in the first five innings. WynnBET has the total set at four. With both pitchers profiling well early in the year, I think they'll shut down each lineup before turning things over to their less-capable bullpens.

Pick: Guardians (+147) and First Five Innings Under 4.0 (-115)
