Two AL foes have a rubber match on Wednesday night from Houston.

The Cleveland Guardians and Houston Astros face off with young stud Cristian Javier set to start for the AL West leaders. Javier has been one of the strong points of a formidable Houston rotation as the team is clear favorites in the final meeting between the two teams this week.

How should we bet this one with the Guardians countering with Cal Quantrill?

Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Guardians vs. Astros Odds, Run Line, Total

Run Line:

  • Guardians: +1.5 (-130)
  • Astros: -1.5 (+115)

Moneyline:

  • Guardians: +152
  • Astros: -167

Total: 8.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Guardians vs. Astros Prediction and Pick

Javier has gaudy numbers that will make life difficult for the Guardians all game long. He has a 2.87 ERA while punching out more than 11 batters per 9 innings. He is walking less batters per 9 innings compared to his first full season in 2021, and is rounding into a future star of the Astros rotation.

On the other side, the surging Houston offense gets a favorable matchup against right-hander Cal Quantrill. The Astros are second in wRC+ since the beginning of May Quantrill struggles to generate swing and misses, offering less than six strikeouts per 9 innings.

With Houston's ability to create contact and put pressure on Quantrill, I believe we see the team break through with another high powered offensive outing.

I'll take Houston to go over their team total over.

LEAN: Astros Team Total OVER 4.5 (-125)
