The Cleveland Guardians are on the road for the first game of a short two-game series against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Guardians lost their first two games of the season to the Royals by a combined score of 4-1. However, they woke up on Sunday and crushed the Royals 17-3 to move to 1-2 on the year and followed up with a 10-spot on Monday afternoon. As far as the first two wins of the season go, Cleveland couldn't have done much better.

The Reds had the day off Monday after going 2-2 to start the year against the Atlanta Braves. Cincinnati managed to win the first and last game of the series against the reigning champions on their home field. The Reds totaled 12 runs in those two wins and scored 20 so far in their first four games.

Guardians vs. Reds Prediction and Pick

This game will be a treat to cover after a week of predicting starting pitcher debuts. Finally, I have some recent results to work with. Tyler Mahle gets his second start for the Reds while Shane Bieber is back in action for the Guardians. Of the pair, Mahle had the better season debut with a win over the Braves. He threw five innings of three-hit ball against the defending World Series champions and spoiled their home opener. Mahle struck out seven, issued just two walks, and did not give up an earned run.

Bieber had a solid start to the season for the Guardians despite taking the loss against the Royals. He allowed one run in 4 ⅔ innings of work. Bieber control was on point as he struck out four and didn’t walk a single batter. He also has one of the best early-season offenses in the MLB at his back.

The Guardians currently lead the league with a .298 team batting average and are second in hits with 34 in three games. They also have scored 27 runs in their last two.

I’m going to roll with Cleveland here to get the win on the back of their offense.

Pick: Guardians ML -112
