Guardians vs. Royals Prediction and Odds for Tuesday, Sept. 6 (Bet on Shane Bieber to Dominate)
By Peter Dewey
The Cleveland Guardians picked up a much-needed win in their series opener with the Kansas City Royals on Monday, but they couldn’t hit the UNDER and keep my best bet alive.
It’s a new day, and we have a new chance to cash in on this matchup with Shane Bieber (8-8, 3.06 ERA) on the mound for Cleveland against the struggling Kris Bubic (2-10, 5.47 ERA).
Bieber has been extremely unlucky over his last three starts, with the Guardians scoring just two runs across those three games. Can the offense help out its ace tonight?
Here are the odds from FanDuel Sportsbook:
Guardians vs. Royals Odds, Run Line and Total
Run Line:
- Guardians -1.5 (-115)
- Royals +1.5 (-104)
Moneyline:
- Guardians: -205
- Royals: +172
Total:
- 7.5 (Over -102/Under -120)
Guardians vs. Royals Prediction and Pick
Bubic has struggled in 2022, and August may have been his worst month, as he posted a 5.52 ERA across six starts with the Royals going 2-4 in those games.
Facing Bieber is going to be a tough task for any lineup, and knowing that Bubic is prone to a blowup outing is not good for K.C. Bieber has allowed three or fewer runs in seven straight starts, compiling a 1.90 ERA and 2.37 Fielding Independent Pitching over that stretch.
The Royals team total in this game is set at just 2.5 runs, with the UNDER at plus money at some books.
I think it’s worth taking a shot on the UNDER, especially considering that Cleveland has the No. 4 bullpen ERA in baseball.
Bieber’s last seven starts have seen the other team score one, four, two, two, two, three and three runs. Against a young K.C. lineup, I think Bieber thrives on Tuesday.
Lean: Royals Team Total UNDER 2.5 Runs (+110)
