The 34-35 Charlotte Hornets host the 34-34 Atlanta Hawks tonight at 7:00 PM EST in a game with massive playoff implications.

Both teams are desperately chasing the Nets and Raptors and with just a few weeks left in the regular season, wins are paramount.

Atlanta has won three in a row but haven't covered the spread in six straight while the Hornets have won and covered in two straight. The Charlotte offense has been on fire, scoring 134 points in their last game and 142 in the game before that.

These teams have played three times this year, with the Hawks winning twice and the Hornets once. Can Charlotte's hot offense even the series or will Trae Young and Atlanta earn a huge victory?

Let's check out the odds over at WynnBET to help us find value in this important Hawks vs Hornets matchup:

Hawks vs Hornets Prediction and Pick

Trae Young is doing his best to will Atlanta to the postseason. He has 45+ points in back-to-back games and is averaging 31.1 points, 9.9 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game over his last 10. He's helped the Hawks post the third-highest offensive rating in the NBA over their previous 15.

But as good as the offense has been, the defense has been just as bad, ranking 25th in defensive rating during that same time span. The Hawks will be missing John Collins again tonight and it'll be the Ice Trae show.

After a mid-season slump, Charlotte is trending up. Over their last 10 contests, the Hornets are 4th in offensive rating, 14th in defensive and 7th in net. They're playing like a much more complete team than Atlanta and I think that will be the difference.

The Hawks need every point Trae can give them, and if he stumbles even a bit, they'll lose. Charlotte not only has a depth advantage but they've also got a situational advantage as Atlanta has been atrocious on the road. They're 2-11 against the spread (ATS) in their last 13 road games and 10-23 on the season.

When a team is winning games but not covering the spread, as the Hawks have recently, that usually means a loss is coming. I think that loss comes today - give me the Hornets to earn a third straight victory.

Pick: Hornets PK (-110)
