Heat vs. Nets Prediction and Odds: Can Miami Pull Off the Upset?
By Peter Dewey
The Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets are expected to be among the top teams in the Eastern Conference this season, and they will face off on Wednesday night at Barclays Center.
Miami comes into this game at 2-1, but it has had a strange start to the season, blowing out the Milwaukee Bucks, but losing by double-digits to the Indiana Pacers.
Brooklyn has gotten off to a slow start, going 2-2 on the year as the team still tries to figure out its rotation without Kyrie Irving.
There will be plenty of star power on display tonight, but let’s look at the odds from WynnBET for this matchup:
Heat vs. Nets Odds, Spread and Total:
Spread:
- Heat +4.5 (-110)
- Nets -4.5 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Heat: +155
- Nets: -175
Total:
- 218.0 (Over -110/Under -110)
Nets vs. Heat Prediction and Pick
I’m going to get bold with my pick in this one and take the Heat to win outright at +155 odds.
Miami dismantled the Bucks in its season opener, the same Bucks team that blew out the Nets on opening night, and it has a lot more chemistry-wise than Brooklyn at the moment.
The Heat aren't extremely deep, but Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro are a really nice starting point to compete with Brooklyn.
James Harden and Kevin Durant are going to get theirs, but I’m not convinced that the Nets have figured out the right lineup so far this season. That’s going to be tough against playoff teams, and you know Miami is going to take the regular season seriously after falling to sixth in the East last season.
Pick: Heat moneyline (+155)
