Heat vs. Sixers Prediction and Odds (Fade Sixers on Second Night of Back-to-Back)
By Peter Dewey
The Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers are fighting for position in the Eastern Conference, but it’s Miami that holds the No. 1 seed entering Monday’s matchup.
The Sixers are coming off a loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, and they lost to Miami in the lone matchup between these two teams since the James Harden trade.
Jimmy Butler (questionable), Caleb Martin (questionable), Victor Oladipo (out) and Gabe Vincent (out) are all on the injury report for the Heat, but oddsmakers still think they can pull this out on the road.
Let’s get into the odds via WynnBET for this matchup:
Heat vs. Sixers Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
- Heat -1.5 (-110)
- Sixers +1.5 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Heat: -125
- Sixers: +105
Total:
- 217.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
Heat vs. Sixers Prediction and Pick
The Sixers are just 3-5 against the spread in back-to-backs this season, and James Harden’s play has to be a bit concerning for Philly fans as the postseason nears.
Since the trade, Harden is shooting 43.0 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from beyond the arc, but he has only made more than five field goals in two of his last seven games.
The Sixers need Harden to be elite alongside Joel Embiid, and if he is not, a tough defense like Miami (fifth in defensive rating) could be an issue now and come playoff time.
The Heat are 11-8-1 against the spread this season when favored on the road, but I’m going to forget the points in this game. Normally, I’d wait to see if Butler is in, but Miami has played so many games without its top talent this season that I don’t think it matters as much.
I would wait to see if we can get some value on the Heat as underdogs if Butler can’t go, but I don’t mind taking them to win this game straight up against a Philly team that scored just 88 points last night.
Lean: Heat Moneyline (-125)
