The Miami Heat play their second road leg of a back-to-back when they travel to Minneapolis to face the Timberwolves. Three Heat players scored 15 points in a 100-92 win over the Detroit Pistons that saw Miami go on a 33-16 run to close out the victory.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves, despite an 8-9 record are playing some of their best basketball of the season. The Timberwolves are winners of four straight games by 10 or more points, and have covered the spread in five consecutive games.
Oddsmakers are hinting that despite the win-loss record discrepancy, the T-Wolves at home should not be taken lightly despite hosting one of the best teams in the league.

The Wolves' defense has been fantastic thus far this season, and active hands have been a massive part of the improvement.

A fantastic breakdown from @AidanBerg_:https://t.co/Nj7hAytHKi
There's been heavy movement across multiple books towards the Timberwolves side after opening at Heat -2. Coming off a game on Monday and playing again on the road is not typically favorable for most NBA teams, as they're 39-45-4 against the spread so far this season.
However, the Heat might be the exception.
Via TeamRankings, Miami is 3-0 on second games of a back-to-back this year, with an ATS +/- of +13.3. They're also 2-0 ATS with a rest disadvantage and are 4-0-0 as a road underdog.
With no key injuries as of Wednesday afternoon, I can't help but wonder if there's a slight overreaction from the betting market to the Heat playing two games in a row.

At the same time, the Timberwolves turnaround lately has been impressive. Anthony Edwards is averaging over 22 points per game and Minnesota has held opponents to under 100 points in their last five games. The T-Wolves have also beaten Miami in four of their last five games, including three in a row at Target Center.
Ultimately, I'll side with Miami in this one, especially if they come in as an underdog. Even though Minnesota has looked great recently, but via NBA.com, the teams they've beat have a combined 22-48 record.
PICK: Heat -110 moneyline
