Here's How Ravens Can Still Clinch a Playoff Spot in Week 18
By Peter Dewey
The Baltimore Ravens were unable to hold off the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17, losing 20-19, and it puts them in a tough spot to make the playoffs this season.
Baltimore will need the Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins to all lose in Week 18 while also beating the Pittsburgh Steelers. Then, to add another wrinkle, the Cleveland Browns must lose one of their final two games of the season against the Steelers or Cincinnati Bengals.
Yeah, this is a serious long shot for a team that could still be without Lamar Jackson again in Week 18.
Ravens Odds to Make the Playoffs in Week 18
There are two scenarios in which the Ravens make the postseason with the Browns losing one of the final two games, so I used the latest odds at WynnBET to break them down.
Scenario 1 (if Browns lose in Week 17):
- Pittsburgh Steelers (-160) vs. Cleveland Browns
- Baltimore Ravens (-210) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
- Las Vegas Raiders (+130) vs. Los Angeles Chargers
- New England Patriots (-290) at Miami Dolphins
- Jacksonville Jaguars (+650) vs. Indianapolis Colts
This scenario comes in at +5465 odds at WynnBET if you parlayed each team’s moneyline in the game. A $1 bet would win $54.64 if this scenario happened, but it shows how much of a long shot it is for the Ravens to get in.
Scenario 2 (if Browns lose in Week 18):
- Baltimore Ravens (-210) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
- Las Vegas Raiders (+130) vs. Los Angeles Chargers
- New England Patriots (-290) at Miami Dolphins
- Jacksonville Jaguars (+650) vs. Indianapolis Colts
- Cincinnati Bengals (N/A) vs. Cleveland Browns
WynnBET has yet to release odds for the Week 18 matchup between the Browns and Bengals since Cleveland still has to play in Week 17.
Assuming the Bengals are more than a 2.5-point favorite in that game (that’s what the Steelers are over Cleveland in Week 17), this scenario will be more likely, but still very improbable for the Ravens to sneak into the playoffs in the AFC.
