The New York Knicks have turned things around, although it may be too late. They’ve won four straight games heading into Wednesday’s matchup with the Charlotte Hornets. 

Charlotte has a five-game lead on the Knicks in the playoff standings, and the Knicks are 4.5 games out of the No. 10 spot in the East with just six games to play. Essentially, New York has to win out and get some help to make the play-in tournament this season. 

That will start with a crucial matchup against Charlotte, who dropped its last game to the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

Hornets vs. Knicks Prediction and Pick

These two teams met in Charlotte on March 23 with the Knicks coming away with a 15-point win. They’ll look to duplicate that performance at Madison Square Garden. 

Both of these teams have been playing great as of late, both ranking top-10 in net rating over their last 10 games, and the Knicks have the No. 6 defensive rating over that stretch. Charlotte has done well on the offensive end, ranking fifth in offensive rating over its last 10. 

A few trends favor the Hornets in this game, as the Knicks are 4-9 against the spread as home underdogs while the Hornets are 6-3 as road favorites this season. 

However, the Knicks have covered in 10 of their last 14 games and seem to have found their stride late in the season. New York is going to slow the pace (it ranks 29th in the league), which is something that won’t fit well with the Hornets high-powered offense. 

I make this game a little closer to a pick’em, as New York has held the Hornets offense to just 203 points in two games this season.
