A game with playoff implications goes down in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon.

The streaking Charlotte Hornets are looking to climb to the top of the play-in standings, while the Philadelphia 76ers try to find their footing ahead of a postseason run. Charlotte has won 8 of 10 while the Sixers have dropped three straight.

How should recent form factor into this matchup with playoff seeding on the line.

The James Harden trade has not worked to the Sixers liking thus far. The team is 9-7 since March 1st, posting just a +0.9 net rating. While Joel Embiid continues to look dominant, Harden has not been able to hold up his end of the bargain and keep a shallow roster afloat.

Harden's numbers are nearly identical to his in Brooklyn: averaging 22 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists on an inefficient 41/34/88 clip.

Meanwhile, the Hornets are getting healthier and playing their best ball at the right time. In that same time frame the team is +5.8 in terms of net rating and posting the second best offensive rating in the entire league. Now, the team is set to get Gordon Hayward back on Saturday afternoon to help fill out the rotation for a playoff push.

Charlotte's up-tempo style of play has paid dividends and it may be problematic for a Sixers team that is bottom 10 in pace since the Harden deal. The Sixers defense has taken a hit since the trade and they are not going to be interested in a track meet.

While the team should be motivated after a poor fourth quarter led to a double digit road loss to the Pistons, I can't see the Sixers winning with margin on a Saturday afternoon game. I like the Hornets offense to hang around and have a shot to win late.
