The Houston Rockets have lost three consecutive games, capping their losing streak with a 122-91 beating from the Utah Jazz on Thursday. This young Houston team is going through a rebuild and will suffer from the growing pains.

The Rockets would like to see better field goal percentages from Jalen Green, shooting at just .347. Houston selected Green with the second-overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

The Los Angeles Lakers picked up a 113-101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. The Lakers should have won four games in a row, but took a head-scratching loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Oct. 27.

Los Angeles could take the court tonight without LeBron James or Anthony Davis, as both are game time decisions.

Rockets vs. Lakers Prediction and Pick

While this Los Angeles team looks like the best collection of talent from 2014, they’re still pretty good in 2021.

The Lakers’ 48.7 percent shooting percentage is the second-best in the NBA, and Houston’s opponent points per game is 22nd in the NBA, allowing 112 points per game. The Rockets will be allowing a bunch of buckets tonight, regardless of which player’s take the court for Los Angeles.

Both Houston and LA turn the ball over a ton, each team averaging 17 turnovers a contest. That will happen with an inexperienced team like the Rockets and the Lakers have Russell Westbrook.

As long as Westbrook doesn’t give it away too many times, Los Angeles should cover their lofty spread.

I’m taking the Lakers at -11.5 (-110).
