The kickoff to the Super Bowl is just minutes away but we have some prop results to update while we eagerly wait for the opening whistle.

The first order of business is to report that the National Anthem, sung by Mickey Guyton, went over the predicted length of 1:35 seconds and was one of the shorter predicted renditions since 1990 when Aaron Neville was in a hurry to get to his box seat and enjoy the game with a performance clocking in at 1:32.

Guyton, as it turns out was not in a hurry with a rendition of the National Anthem that ran one minute and 51 seconds and went OVER the total by sixteen seconds.

Now that we have a few minutes until kickoff, let’s take some time to look back and update the historical record or the National Anthem prop.

First off, I want to say that I think the National Anthem is one of the more fascinating props that people seem to love betting on. This is because, while the words to the song don't change, different people have different styles to sing it.

Therefore, a singer could take a few minutes to drag the crowd through auditory hell or do as Aaron Neville did and spend more time walking to the stage than on it. This is what makes this prop so unique.

And, as with any other prop, there are trends involved. Over the last 15 years, excluding tonight, the OVER is 8-6-1.

Billy Joel has the honor of performing the quickest anthem at 1:30 while the longest was Alicia Keys who spent 2:36 on the stage at Super Bowl 47. The trends suggest that the performance is getting longer over the last few years.  Seven of the last nine performances have gone OVER two minutes as artists are in no rush to escape the spotlight.
