How to Bet Cam Akers Rushing Yard Prop vs. Buccaneers
Cam Akers will be going up against one of the most vaunted rush defenses in the league this week.
After returning to action in a big way, Akers is in line for a decent day in the Divisional Round. WynnBET has his rushing prop at 47.5, with -115 odds on both sides. He cleared that line against the Cardinals. Can he do it again this week?
Earlier this week, our own Reed Wallach broke down why Akers will have success, calling the Buccaneers’ rushing defense overrated.
Tampa Bay is 14th in defensive EPA/Rush and success rate, per RBSDM. While the team's defensive line has received a ton of credit this season, it has been just average over the second half of the season. ...Akers clearly unlocks a different level of the Rams running back that has leaned on the likes of Sony Michel and Darrell Henderson Jr. at different points this season. The second year pro has game breaking speed as a pass catcher and taking hand offs from Matthew Stafford.
I would agree with Wallach on this one. The Buccaneers gave up 39 yards to Jalen Hurts on 8 carries last week. Even Boston Scott had a 34-yard run against them. Tampa Bay isn’t immune to the occasional big play and Akers will have more of the workload than Hurts did.
Akers has already shown enough for me to take the over on this prop and feel comfortable.
