How to Bet Geno Smith and Ben Roethlisberger Props on Sunday Night Football
By Reed Wallach
Sunday Night Football in Week 6 features two struggling offenses for two different reasons. The Seattle Seahawks travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers without their starting quarterback Russell Wilson while the Steelers O has been the weak point of the team all year.
With Geno Smith under center and the aging Ben Roethlisberger, bettors aren't expecting many points in this one with a total of 42.5, the lowest of the week.
However, we can attack the prop market considering there may be more success for the offense than expected. WynnBET Sportsbook has props for both quarterbacks, so keep reading for a breakdown for both signal callers.
Ben Roethlisberger Passing Yards: 257.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
This game should actually set up nicely for Roethlisberger to clear this low total. The Steelers are passing the ball at a high clip despite the quarterbacks deteriorating arm strength.
Pittsburgh is passing on more than two thirds of their plays, the third highest rate in the league and should be able to find success against the Seattle defense that is bottom third o
The Seattle defense has struggled defending the pass, bottom third of the league in EPA per drop back this season.
While 'Big Ben' has only gone over this total twice this season, I'm expecting him to put up a strong stat line on prime time.
Geno Smith Passing Yards: 223.5 (Over -115/Under -115)
This is so low that it's bringing me to the over. First, the game script should lead to a ton of passes for Smith with the Seahawks sitting as five point underdogs.
The Pittsburgh secondary can be had, 20th in the NFL in EPA per drop back, so I do see Seattle opting to pass and well at that. I mentioned that Pittsburgh will likely stack the box against the Seahawks depleted offense, but Smith is going to be able to handle the pressure and find the likes of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett all game.
