Hurricanes vs. Bruins Prediction and Odds for Game 4 (Hurricanes Down to 3rd String Goalie)
By Matt De Saro
NHL playoff action kicks off early on Sunday with a nooner showdown between the Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins. The Hurricanes currently lead the series 2-1 after taking the first two games at home. The Bruins put a stop to that at home on Friday night with a 4-2 win.
With a win on Sunday, the Bruins can pull even in this series before it heads back to Raleigh on Tuesday. Can the Bruins make their Mothers proud today or will they fall to 1-3 on their home ice?

Hurricanes vs. Bruins Prediction and Pick
The Bruins made a bold move and made a goalie change in Game 3 in their playoff debut at the TD Garden. The Bruins rolled with Linus Ullmark in the first two games but gave Friday’s start to Jeremy Wayman. The second-stringer earned his first career playoff win with 25 saves thanks to goals from Charlie Coyle, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak.
The Hurricanes will be making some roster adjustments as well, but not the kind they want. Carolina forward Jordan Martinook was knocked out of Game 3 in the second period with a lower-body injury. His status for today is unknown. He could join starting goalie Freddie Anderson on the shelf. To make matters worse, backup goalie Antti Raanta was hurt in Game 2. 22-year-old Pyotr Kochetkov is the next in line and will be in the crease for the Canes for the foreseeable future. This is not good for their longevity in this series.
The Bruins played their best game of the season on Friday at home. I think they keep that momentum going against the Hurricanes’ third-string goalie and shorthanded offense.
Pick: Bruins -140 ML
