With eight games left on their schedule, the Carolina Hurricanes are locked in a battle with the New York Rangers for the top spot in the NHL's Metropolitan Division. Both teams have 104 points and whoever comes out on top will likely be matched up with the second wild card team in the conference.

The Hurricanes have been handed a gift when it comes to their opponent tonight, as they face the worst team in the league, the Arizona Coyotes. Anything but a win for Carolina tonight would be a colossal disappointment.
