Illinois vs. Michigan Prediction and Odds (Illinois Primed to Bounce Back)
By Peter Dewey
Illinois and Kofi Cockburn are looking to bounce back from a loss to Ohio State on Thursday night when they take on the Michigan Wolverines.
Michigan won its first game without head coach Juwan Howard when it played Rutgers, but Cockburn and the Fighting Illini pose a much tougher challenge.
Michigan needs a few signature wins to solidify a case for an NCAA Tournament berth, but can it get one on Sunday?
Here are the odds for this matchup via WynnBET:

Illinois vs. Michigan Prediction and Pick
The Wolverines have been much better at home (9-3) than on the road (4-7) this season, but I am surprised they are getting just one point in this matchup.
Illinois has been the better team all season, showing much more consistency on the offensive end, ranking in the top 60 in the NCAA in effective field goal percentage, points per game and 3-point percentage.
While the Wolverines are 46th in the country in field goal percentage, they shoot much worse from 3 and are facing an Illinois team that ranks 24th in the country in opponent effective field goal percentage.
The Fighting Illini did not look the part of the best team in the Big 10 in their loss to Ohio State, but I think this is a bounce back spot against a Michigan team that has underperformed expectations this season.
I’ll back the Illini to come away with the win on Sunday.
Lean: Illinois -1 (-110)
