The Indiana Pacers have won just one of its first five games, but have shown an ability to score in bunches, producing at least 100 points in every contest. The Pacers failed to cover as one-point favorites on the spread against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, losing by a decent chunk, 118-100. Indiana currently sits at fourth in the Central division.

The Brooklyn Nets have had a sub-.500 start to their season, but there has been a tempering of expectations with Kyrie Irving dealing with vaccination issues. The Nets also failed to cover the spread as favorites on Wednesday, favored by 3.5-points, Brooklyn would lose to the Miami Heat, 106-93.

Pacers vs. Nets Prediction and Pick

Brooklyn will still be without Irving in this one, but the Pacers will be without point guard Malcolm Brogdon, forward T.J. Warren, and possibly guard Caris Levert as well.

Jeremy Lamb and T.J. McConnell will have to step up in their stead, and Domantas Sabonis will have to stuff the stat sheet, if Indiana has any chance in taking a win tonight.

Both the Pacers and Nets are in the top-10 in pace in the early part of the season, using a lot of possessions, and Indiana is fifth in the NBA in true shooting percentage, which takes into account free throws and three-pointers. These two teams have been average in defensive efficiency as well, so there should be lots of scoring in this one, regardless of who is on the court.

I’m taking the over 223 and Indiana on the spread at +9.
