The Indiana Hoosiers hit the road to Maryland Stadium in Week 9 to take on their Big 10 rival Maryland Terrapins. Both teams are struggling in conference play and could really use a win this weekend.

Indiana is 2-5 and sixth in the Big 10 East division. It is riding a three-game losing streak, all to Big 10 teams. Even worse, the Hoosiers have covered just once this season, Week 2 against Idaho, and are getting blown out in games even as double-digit underdogs.

Not to be outdone, Maryland is also on a three-game losing streak after dropping games to Iowa, Ohio State and Minnesota. The Terps have also been a tough bet this year, going just 3-4 ATS and failing to cover in the last three weeks in a row.

So, which one of these struggling Big 10 teams is the best bet this weekend? Here are the odds for this matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Indiana vs. Maryland Prediction and Pick

This game features a pair of teams who are fighting to stay out of the basement of the Big 10. The teams have a combined ATS record of 4-10, making it hard to trust either to perform well in this game.

While the season stats do show that Maryland ranks slightly higher in most offensive and defensive categories, on the field the Terrapins look like a worse team.

In any event, these two teams are in the bottom quarter of the nation in most statistics and are will struggle to win games against anyone down the stretch. Indiana is currently winless in the Big 10, a feat even Nebraska and Northwestern have accomplished.

The one thing that stands out to me in this game is the relatively high total considering how average these offenses are. Maryland is averaging 22.3 points per game and Indiana is just 14.2.

Now, I’m no math whiz, but 22.3 + 14.2 is nowhere near 51.1 points. In fact, it’s about 15 points high. I get that these two teams are probably the worst each will face this season, but that still doesn’t account for that extra 15 points. Even with a pair of sub-par defenses, I think that neither team has the drive or skill to put up big points here.

Prediction: Indiana vs Maryland UNDER 51.5 points (-110)
