The Iowa State Cyclones lost a heartbreaker to Texas Tech last week 41-38 on a game-winning field goal by the Red Raiders. The loss dropped the Cyclones to 6-4 overall and fourth in the Big 12. That record is in danger of slipping closer to .500 with a date on the road against the No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners looming.

Oklahoma is 9-1 through 11 weeks and leads the Big 12 along with the Oklahoma State Cowboys with 6-1 conference records. It would be one of the more significant upsets in recent weeks if the Cyclones can pull off a win here. But, how likely is that to happen against such a high-ranking team like Oklahoma?

Here are the odds for this Big 12 matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Iowa State vs. Oklahoma  Prediction and Pick

The Oklahoma Sooners were stunned last week by the Baylor Bears and saw their chances of a CFP berth vanish almost instantly. The Sooners lost their playoff hopes along with their perfect record and are out for blood. I think that Iowa State will be victimized by this team coming off such a tough loss. The Sooners were held to just 260 yards on offense which marked the worst figure since Lincoln Riley took over five seasons ago. Coincidentally, it was their lowest score since they lost to Baylor 48-14 in 2014.

Getting back to 2021, the Sooners’ passing attack is potent, averaging 284 yards per game. The passing game is complimented well by a group putting up 171 YPG on the ground.

This is a great bounce-back opportunity for Oklahoma who still has a lot to play for as they are now tied with Oklahoma State for the top spot in the Big 12.
