The Big 12 was one of the stories of the season and potentially asserting itself, at least in this short window, as the second best conference in college football. However, that narrative has come to rest with Oklahoma State’s season fizzling out, along with both Kansas and Kansas State. Now 6-3, the Cowboys look to rebound from a 37-16 loss to the Jayhawks last week when they take on 4-5 Iowa State.

Iowa State vs. Oklahoma State Prediction and Pick
Hunter Dekkers and Iowa State had something of an offensive awakening last week against West Virginia. The 85th ranked offense in the country hung 31 on the Mountaineers after Oklahoma’s terrible defense held them to 13 points the week before. The thing about Oklahoma’s bad defense is that it is still better than Oklahoma State’s.
The Cowboys are 123rd in total defense and allowed 37 to Jason Bean’s Kansas Jayhawks. Bean wasn’t the one who shredded Oklahoma State, it was Devin Neal who ran for 224 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries. Iowa State’s offense relies on the pass and only runs for 105.6 yards per game, so maybe the secondary will hold up better.
I think Oklahoma State has far too many problems right now and Spencer Sanders didn’t even play last week. They were overrated because of a hot start against a weak schedule and the success of last year’s team. This year’s squad was never deserving of a top 25 ranking and they will drop another game this week.
