West Virginia is as desperate as any major conference team to get a win, losers of seven straight in Big 12 play, and will look to get off the schneid at home against a struggling Iowa State team.

The Cyclones have lost six of their last nine games, including a 22-point loss to Texas on the road on Saturday in which they scored only 41 points.

Who can get back on track on Tuesday night in Morgantown? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook.

Iowa State vs. West Virginia Prediction and Pick

This is a great spot to back the Mountaineers at home. While the losing streak looks bad on the surface, the team has been competitive in nearly every game and should be able to generate offense to outpace the Cyclones.

After a 12-0 start, Iowa State's offense has regressed heavily, shooting 27% from three in Big 12 play and are last in the conference in offense rebounding percentage and free throw rate. Meanwhile, the team does force turnovers at the best rate in the conference, which has created a lot of offense for them.

However, when they are forced to play in the halfcourt, ISU can't generate any offense. Unfortunately for them, Bobby Huggins' team is top 50 in limiting transition opportunities for teams and they are a decent ball handling club.

The team will hopefully have Taz Sherman out of concussion protocol and their physicality around the rim should create enough free throw trips (second best free throw rate in Big 12 play) to outpace the Iowa State offense that struggles to break 50 points.

West Virginia is competitive despite the losing streak while the visiting Cyclones have hit a wall this season. ShotQuality ranks the Mountaineers as a better team based on their shot profiles and I'd play them at -2 or better in a great buy low spot.
