Is Adrian Martinez Playing Today? (Latest Injury Update for Texas vs. Kansas State Week 10)
By Reed Wallach
The Wildcats lost starting quarterback Adrian Martinez to a leg injury two weeks ago on the road against TCU and he missed the team's last game against Oklahoma State.
The Wildcats didn't miss a beat against the Cowboys, though, blasting them 48-0 with backup Will Howard leading the charge. This was the second straight game that Howard looked more than capable under center, but head coach Chris Klieman would love to have his dynamic signal caller back this weekend, will he be available? Hear the latest from the K-State coaching staff about Martinez's availability:
Latest Injury Update for Adrian Martinez
Saturday Morning Update: Martinez will go through pregame warmups and then the team will decide if it will be him or Will Howard starting against Texas, per ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Martinez was a game-time call last week, even warming up for the game, but was held out of the win against Oklahoma State. Well, it appears the same thing is happening this weekend after offensive coordinator Collin Klein's implied it will be another GTD.
There's a chance we saw Martinez, a run first quarterback, and Howard, the superior passer, both under center for the Wildcats as they host Texas in a game with massive Big 12 Championship implications.
