Blake Corum's impact can't be understated for Michigan this season, but the team had to win their biggest game of the season without their Heisman Trophy candidate.

Michigan went to Columbus last week and blasted their rival Ohio State in The Game without Corum, 45-23. Corum was hobbled from a knee injury suffered the game prior against Illinois and was a non factor in the game. Corum had two carries for six yards in the first half, but will he be able to play against Purdue in the Big Ten Championship Game?

Here's the latest on Michigan's star running back:

Latest Blake Corum Injury Update

Corum's status was in doubt all week ahead of the Ohio State game, and he was a non factor in the game, now this week, it was announced that Corum will undergo season ending knee surgery.

Corum rushed for 1,463 yards on 247 carries with 18 touchdowns on the ground. Michigan did get two long touchdown runs from Donovan Edwards last week in the victory, but he is also nursing a broken hand, even carrying the ball with his weak hand.

Michigan is still overwhelming favorites in the Conference Championship Game despite being without Corum. For more on this one, check out our game preview here, as well as The Early Reed below.
