The Los Angeles Rams will not have Cam Akers in the lineup for the second straight game when they take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8.

Akers and the Rams are looking for a trade partner at the moment, but according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, there is a path where Akers could return to the Rams this season.

"The Los Angeles Rams are not planning to part ways with Cam Akers if they are unable to trade the third-year running back, sources told ESPN," Schefter wrote.

"The Rams would find a trade partner for Akers in a perfect world, according to sources, but they also recognize that he can still help them this season.

"Therefore, if Akers is not dealt before Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, he is expected to return to the Rams and play for them again this season, sources said."

For now, Darrell Henderson Jr. will lead the Rams' backfield in Week 8, an it's unclear what Akers' role would be if he did return to Los Angeles this season.

The Rams could use a win in Week 8 against the 49ers, who have dominated them in the regular season in recent years. The Rams are slight favorites at home in this matchup.

Best Darrell Henderson Jr. Prop Bets vs. 49ers in NFL Week 8

Don't be surprised if the Rams try to establish the run to control the pace of his game against a tough San Francisco defense.

In his last game, Henderson carried the ball 12 times for 43 yards and a score against the Carolina Panthers. I like him to go OVER his rushing attempts total in Week 8.

Henderson is going to see the majority of the running back touches in this game, so getting him at plus money to go OVER this number feels worthwhile, especially if the Rams are able to build a lead at home.
