Is DeQuan Finn Playing Today? (Latest Injury Update for Toledo vs. Ohio in MAC Championship Game)
By Reed Wallach
Toledo is limping to the finish line, but can they get over the hump in the MAC Championship game?
The Rockets were the preseason favorite to win the MAC Championship and made it to the conference title game via a very easy division. The team is banged up at the moment with starting quarterback DeQuan Finn missing time throughout the season and the Rockets have dropped two straight as favorites.
Will Finn be able to suit up on Saturday, or will Toledo lose their third game in a row, this time with a title on the line?
Latest DeQuan Finn Injury Update
Saturday morning update: Finn is going to be available to play on Saturday in the MAC Championship, per ESPN's Pete Thamel, but may not be 100%.
Finn has been a shell of himself the last few weeks as he has been hobbled by an ankle injury. The sophomore missed the team's game against Bowling Green two weeks ago as well as against Eastern Michigan a few weeks ago.
He also didn't finish the team's game against Western Michigan last week, replaced by Tucker Gleason. However, head coach Jason Candle is hopeful Finn will be good to go for Saturday afternoon against Ohio.
It's worth noting that Gleason, the backup, has plenty of experience this season, but is also playing with a steel plate in his broken hand. Gleason is completing 47% of his passes this season with 11 total touchdowns with three interceptions.
Finn is essential to a Toledo MAC title. he has passed for 1,973 yards with 21 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He has also added 522 rushing yards with eight TD's on the ground.
