Is Jalon Daniels Playing Today? (Latest Injury Update for Oklahoma State vs. Kansas Week 8)
By Reed Wallach
After being rumored to miss the entire season for the upstart Kansas Jayhawks, could their star quarterback be returning to the field?
Jalon Daniels was the impetus for Kansas fantastic 5-0 start to the season that saw the Jayhawks enter the AP Top 25 and host College GameDay. However, a shoulder injury against TCU has kept the dynamic signal caller on the sideline, but can he be cleared to play on Saturday against Oklahoma State?
Here's the latest with practice reports and quotes from Jayhawks head coach Lane Leipold.
Latest Injury Update for Jalon Daniels
Saturday Morning Update: Daniels will warmup with the team before it's determined who plays for the Jayhawks on Saturday, per Action Network's Brett McMurphy
Rumors hit shortly after Daniels' shoulder injury that he would miss the remainder of the season, but Daniels and Leipold talked down those rumors. Now, it appears that the quarterback is back on the practice field and trending towards playing.
With Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders potentially out for this game, the Jayhawks listed Daniels as the starter with an OR designation with backup Jason Bean.
We may not know until Saturday at kickoff if Daniels is playing, but there is a ton of positive news out of Lawrence, Kansas in hopes that he can get back on the field. Kansas was undefeated before Daniels got hurt at the end of the first half against TCU, but they have lost three straight since.
