Serena Williams may not be the No. 1 player in the world anymore, but that doesn’t mean she's any less dangerous of an opponent. Wiliams is still chasing her 24th Grand Slam Title which would tie her for the all-time record with Margaret Court. The next chance to hit 24 will be this year’s Wimbledon tournament in South London.

Is Serena Williams Playing in Wimbledon?

Wiliams is scheduled to make her return to Wimbledon after taking a year away to raise a family. The 23-time Grand Slam champion will enter Wimbledon with a single wild card. Her last attempt at another Wimbledon title was cut short in 2021 when she slipped on the grass and was forced to leave.

It was just the second time in her entire career that she was forced to retire mid-match. This will be the first time that the 40-year-old is set to compete since suffering that injury.

Serena Williams Odds to Win Wimbledon

Serena Williams may not be the dominant force she once was, but I have to say I am surprised to see where her odds for this tournament sit. Despite basically being the Michael Jordan of the WTA, Williams is just +2200 to win according to WynnBET Sportsbook.

That ranks her ninth in the field and in the third tier of players. Iga Swiatek leads the pack at +160 as a heavy favorite.

Serena Williams Historic Performance at Wimbledon

While Williams hasn’t won a Wimbledon title since 2016, she is one of the most decorated players in tennis at the tournament.

Williams will be making her 25th appearance here which on its own is an amazing accomplishment. Her win-loss record there is 365-54 (87%), with a strike rate of 23/79. Aside from the seven titles, Williams has reached the finals an additional four times.

Has Serena Williams won at Wimbledon?

Serena Williams is the second most winningest woman in terms of Grand Slams with seven of those wins coming at Wimbledon. Williams took home the crown in 2002, 2003, 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2016.

While Williams is just one win away from tying the Grand Slam record, she needs to win two more Wimbledon titles to pull even with Martina Navratilova with nine wins. Steffi Graf and Dorethea Lambert Chambers are tied with Williams at seven wins while Hele Wills Moody has eight.
