Is Spencer Sanders Playing Today? (Latest Injury Update for Oklahoma State vs. Kansas Week 10)
By Reed Wallach
Spencer Sanders has had injury questions for several weeks now, and it seems to be catching up to him.
The Oklahoma State quarterback has been one of the notable question marks heading into the last few weeks of college football but has gutted it out, leading to a win against Texas two weeks ago. However, it caught up with him last week at Kansas State, a 48-0 loss for the Pokes in a game he left early due to his nagging his shoulder injury.
Here's the latest on the Cowboys quarterback:
Latest Spencer Sanders Injury Update
Saturday Afternoon Update: Sanders is not expected to play, per Dave Hunziker of Cowboy Spots Network
Saturday Morning Update: Sanders will be a game-time decision for the Cowboys game against Kansas, per Pete Thamel of ESPN
Sanders completed 13-of-26 passes for 147 yards with an interception in the blowout loss last week, and the Pokes may be without their star quarterback this week against Kansas on the road. Sanders didn't practice this week, per coach Mike Gundy.
As noted in the tweet above, if Sanders can't go, it'll be Gundy's son Gunnar taking snaps under center. The freshman has little experience, appearing in three games and completing 14-of-27 passes for a two touchdowns and two interceptions.
There are other injuries to Oklahoma State, including their top two running backs and the team's starting punter. This can be a banged up Cowboys group heading to Lawrence on Saturday.
