It's a Trap: Which Week 13 NFL Odds are Most Deceiving?

Every week in the NFL, there’s always a game that seems like an absolute lock that ends up being the downfall of the weekend. Sometimes lines seem too good to be true, and that’s when they go and trap you into betting on them. 

The games I’m going over are the ones that fit that bill exactly. These are the most likely games to be trap games. Let’s get into it. 

Rams -13 vs. Jaguars

The Rams haven’t looked like contenders in the last month, going 1-3. The Rams’ defense, which has a lot of talent, hasn’t performed up to its potential. Los Angeles has given up at least 28 points in each of the last four games.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are not a good football team and I don’t want to give that impression. However, Los Angeles’ lack of dominance leaves the door open for the Jaguars to make this game closer than a two possession game. Even though the Rams have beaten up bad teams this year, I don’t know if I can get behind them right now. 

Giants +6 vs. Dolphins

The New York Giants announced that Daniel Jones won’t be playing on Sunday and that Mike Glennon will be the starter on Sunday. Once that news came out, WynnBET moved the Dolphins from -3 favorites to -6 favorites. I see that as a major overreaction and think the Giants can keep this game closer than that. The Dolphins beat up on the Panthers, but were aided by the worst game in Cam Newton’s career. Meanwhile, New York’s defense held the Eagles to seven points and were in control throughout the game. 

Tua Tagovailoa hasn’t consistently shredded defenses and I think he’ll have some issues figuring out the Giants defense. The Dolphins are a bottom 10 offense in the league, and I can’t trust them to beat anyone by nearly a touchdown.
