When people talk about the best golfers on the planet right now, there are plenty of names that are thrown around. Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, etc.

One name that is NEVER mentioned amongst those I names I wrote above, is Sam Burns. It's about time that we change that narrative. After coming back from being down as much as seven-strokes on Sunday to win the Charles Schwab Challenge, which included a playoff victory over the No. 1 golfer in the world, Sam Burns proved that he's not just a flash in the pan.

The 25-year old now has four wins on the PGA Tour, and three just this season. If you've been betting on him during this run, your pockets are starting to get heavy.

It now seems like the next step for Burns to take, is a major championship. Can he get that done this year?

Sam Burns US Open Odds

The US Open at Brookline is the next major tournament on the calendar, set to take place in just a few weeks. As of writing this article, WynnBET has Sam Burns' odds to win set at +3000.

There's no reason why he can't get it done, and he's certainly worth a shot at that price. He ranks 8th on Tour in total strokes gained, while also ranking 11th in strokes gained: approach, and 20th in strokes gained: putting. In case his wins haven't already proved he can hang with the best, his statistics and analytics certainly do.

His latest win has also moved him up to No. 2 in the FedEx Cup standings, and No. 9 in the Official World Golf Rankings. At just 25 years old, the sky is the limit for Burns and it's about time that we start mentioning him when talking about the best golfers on planet Earth.
