Rookie wide receivers had a strange way of falling to teams with one of their college quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL Draft, but oddsmakers are buying one connection more than the rest.

Ja’Marr Chase, who joins his college quarterback Joe Burrow with the Cincinnati Bengals, has the best odds to win Offensive Rookie of the Year of any wide receiver on WynnBET at +1100.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith, who is currently out with a knee injury, and Miami Dolphins rookie Jaylen Waddle are second on the odds list amongst receivers at +1800.

Ironically, Smith is reunited with Jalen Hurts in Philly while Waddle finds himself with Tua Tagovailoa in Miami. Still, the Chase-Burrow connection is expected to thrive more than the rest.

"I know in college, Joe was actually one of the first people that helped me really break down film," Chase said. "I used to just sit there and watch myself, try to critique myself, but Joe actually gave me the ins and outs of watching film when I was younger. It plays a part now."

Chase sat out last season ast LSU due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so his last on-field action came with Burrow as his quarterback during the 2019 season. That has helped the two maintain their chemistry from their national championship run.

“I would probably say we never lost it," Chase said Saturday. "Just a little communication with me and him if I might mess up and he’ll tell me what’s going on, tell me how he wants it, tell me what I see on the play so we’ll talk about it, correct it and that’s how it’s always been.”

WynnBET doesn’t think the Bengals will be a playoff team in 2021, as they’re projected to win 6.5 games in 2021 with the under (-120) as the favorite to the over (+100). Still, Chase should make an instant impact on offense alongside Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins.

If he and Burrow can take the Bengals’ offense to new heights, they could surprise some people and push for a .500 record this season.
