Outside of quarterback, the star position in football is now wide receiver. Wideouts are getting paid more, and the elite ones are some of the most versatile players in the league. Ultimately, receiving yards is what we’re going to judge these pass catchers on.

Last season, Cooper Kupp had a historic year. Over the new 17-game schedule, he caught 1,947 yards – missing Calvin Johnson’s record by 17 yards. He easily led the league in receiving yards, but does he have what it takes to do it again?

FanDuel has released odds for who will lead the league in receiving yards and Kupp is just behind Justin Jefferson as the favorite to win the receiving title this season. Ja’Marr Chase, last year’s rookie sensation, rounds out the top 3.

Odds listed are via FanDuel.

Odds To Win Receiving Title in 2022

  • Justin Jefferson: +900
  • Cooper Kupp: +1000
  • Ja'Marr Chase: +1200
  • Ceedee Lamb: +1400
  • Stefon Diggs: +1400
  • Davante Adams: +1400

While Kupp had a fantastic season, I’m going with Justin Jefferson to lead the league in receiving.

I have to fade Kupp, as no receiver has won the title in consecutive seasons since Calvin Johnson in 2011 and 2012. Regression is bound to happen, and I think Kupp takes a small step back.

As for Jefferson, he played in all 17 games last season, upped his receiving yards by over 200 yards and saw 167 targets. With Adam Thielen declining, Jefferson is seamlessly stepping up into the No. 1 role with No. 1 targets.

The dark horse in all of this is CeeDee Lamb. With Amari Cooper gone and Dak Prescott coming into camp healthy, the opportunity is there for Lamb to thrive in this offense.

It’s hard to project who will have the most yards, but I feel confident trusting in the 23-year-old that’s been second-team All-Pro in both of his seasons.
