Jaguars vs. Chargers Best Prop Bets for NFL Week 3 (Lean on Running Backs in AFC Matchup)
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers face-off in an AFC showdown Sunday.
News broke this week that Chargers quarterback, Justin Herbert, is still suffering from a rib injury he endured during their Week 2 game against the Kansas City Chiefs and appears to be a game time decision.
That's going to make the game a bit more difficult to handicap, so instead of betting on the side or total, how about some prop bets?
Here are my three favorite prop bets for this AFC matchup.
Best Prop Bets for Jaguars vs. Chargers Week 3
- James Robinson OVER 56.5 Rushing Yards (-110)
- Christian Kirk OVER 4.5 Receptions (-166)
- Austin Ekeler Anytime TD (-120)
James Robinson OVER 56.5 Rushing Yards (-110)
James Robinson has surpassed this total in each of the Jaguars first two games, and he's been getting the bulk of the carries over fellow running back, Travis Etienne. Last week against the Colts, Robinson rans the ball 23 times, compared to Etienne who only ran it nine total times.
Now, Robinson gets to face a Chargers defense that's allowing 5.1 yards per carry, which is the seventh worst mark in the NFL through the first two weeks. I'll gladly back him to surpass this total for the third straight week.
Christian Kirk OVER 4.5 Receptions (-166)
The Jaguars gave Christian Kirk a big ole' bag of money in the offseason, and so far he's been worth the investment. He has become their clear number one option in the passing game, hauling in 12 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns in their first two games. As long as he remains their top target, he should continue to record at least five receptions a game moving forward.
Austin Ekeler Anytime TD (-120)
If Justin Herbert doesn't play, this bet is going to turn into an even better one with Chase Daniel under center. Austin Ekeler is someone the Chargers can lean on in their offense, especially when their star quarterback is hurt.
He has 28 carries and 13 receptions so far this season, which means he's going to have amble opportunity to score his first touchdown of the season today. Even though he's the betting favorite to find the end zone in this game, I still like his value at -120.
