Jaguars vs. Titans Prediction and Odds for NFL Week 14 (Fade the Hot and Cold Jaguars)
By Josh Yourish
So, what are the Jacksonville Jaguars exactly? Two weeks ago they beat the Baltimore Ravens on a very impressive game-winning drive by Trevor Lawrence and then in Week 13, they traveled up to Detroit and got pounded by the Lions, 40-14.
The reality is they’re a 4-8 team with a young quarterback and they’re extremely inconsistent. Now, they have to visit Mike Vrabel and the Titans who are coming off a blowout loss of their own, 35-10 to Philadelphia.
The AFC South is a lot of things, but a good division is not one of them, so let’s get to the odds and trends for this one.
Jaguars vs. Titans Odds, Spread and Total
Tennessee and Jacksonville Betting Trends
- Tennessee is 8-4 ATS
- Jacksonville is 4-7-1 ATS
- Jacksonville is 0-3-1 ATS in last four games on the road
- Tennessee is 8-2 ATS in last 10 meetings with Jacksonville
Jaguars vs. Titans Prediction and Pick
It feels really tough to trust either of these teams after their ugly losses last week, but at least Tennessee was playing the best team in the NFC, not the Detroit Lions. Jacksonville was outgained, 437-266, by Detroit and Trevor Lawrence went 17/31 for 179 yards against the sixth worst passing defense in the NFL.
The Jaguars are the fourth worst pass defense, so if Treylon Burks is healthy, he and Ryan Tannehill could have a big game.
The Titans have the third best run defense, but are bad at defending the pass, so this game will be on Trevor Lawrence’s shoulders. Lawrence has been much better on the road this year, with 10 touchdowns to just two picks and a 97.1 quarterback rating compared to his 88.8 rating at home.
The Titans are 8-2 ATS against the Jaguars in their last ten meetings, so I’ll rely on that history and the pedigree of Mike Vrabel to bounce back.
Pick: Titans -3.5 (-107)
