James Madison vs. Georgia Southern Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 7
By Reed Wallach
One of the most surprising teams in college football this season has been the team that's competing in the FBS for the first time!
James Madison has cracked the AP Top 25 this week behind a 5-0 start in their first season in FBS college football. While many were bullish on the Dukes long term, nobody saw this coming. They are also undefeated against the spread.
The team heads to Statesboro, Georgia to face Clay Helton's Georgia Southern as a double digit favorite, can they remain perfect ATS?

James Madison vs. Georgia Southern Prediction and Pick
This has been an incredible run for JMU, who has blitzed the competition to start the season, but I do think it is time to sell high on the Dukes. Georgia Southern has been a frisky underdog this season in Helton's first year as he has revamped the offense with Buffalo transfer Kyle Vantrease at quarterback.
The Eagles offense is an air raid style offense, passing at the 11th highest rate in the country. While Vantrease is prone to turnovers, the team is 27th in success rate and do a good job of keeping their quarterback protected, allowing just two sacks on the season.
While the Dukes defense has been a revelation this season, allowing more than 20 points just once this season, this Georgia Southern team will be the best offense they have faced all season. They should be able to move the ball with relative ease against Georgia Southern's poor defense, but the Dukes have struggle to rush the ball this season, the weak point of the home teams defense.
If James Madison can't take advantage on early downs and stay ahead of the sticks, the Eagles can hang around this massive spread. The team was +10 at Coastal Carolina two weeks in a game they nearly won outright, losing by four. Now they are even bigger underdogs at home against a James Madison team that hasn't been challenged in the secondary just yet?
I'll try and get on the fade JMU train at the right time and take the Eagles to stay within the number.
