James Robinson vs. Chase Edmonds: Who Will Have More Yards?
By Thomas Snodgrass
Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson gained 1,414 yards from scrimmage in his rookie season and averaged just about 100 total yards in his 14 games. Through two games in 2021 Robinson is averaging just 59 total yards. The Jaguars have been playing from behind more often than not this season which has impacted Robinson’s usage.
The Arizona Cardinals have a split backfield with Chase Edmonds and James Conner. Edmonds has largely been getting more looks on third down and passing situations. He put up 106 yards from scrimmage in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, then followed it up with 75 yards from scrimmage against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.
WynnBET Sportsbook has set Robinson’s rushing yards prop at 47.5 (over -116/under -115) and Edmonds’ rushing yards prop at 45.5 (over -116/under -112). Robinson and Edmonds could both play a role in their team’s respective passing attack, Edmond’s receiving yards prop set at 27.5 (over -112/under -120) and Robinson’s receiving yards prop set at 21.5 (over -120/under -112).

When deciding how well a player will perform, it’s hard to ignore his surrounding cast.
Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has been fantastic this season and is spreading the ball around to many targets, with six different receivers already collecting eight or more targets in the first two games; rookie Rondale Moore surprisingly leads the team with 13.
The Jaguars defense has been absolutely awful, giving up 449 yards of total offense to the Houston Texans in Week 1, and 398 yards of offense to the Denver Broncos in Week 2. Jacksonville’s defense is going to get thrashed again in Week 3, so I would expect Chase Edmonds to pick up more yards than James Robinson this week.
