Jan Blachowicz vs. Glover Teixeira Prediction and Pick

There’s no question that the 41-year old Glover Teixeira is overmatched in this bout, and the odds reflect that fact. He rightfully earned the title shot with a five-fight win streak that was capped off with a submission victory over Thiago Santos, but he has his hands full against a prime Jan Blachowicz.

If you don’t want to bet on a -300 (bet $300 to profit $100) favorite, then the best idea is to look at the method of victory bets. In 28 professional wins, Blachowicz has eight wins via KO/TKO, nine wins by submission, and 11 wins that went to the judges scorecards.

Based on the value, I’m going to take a shot on Blachowicz to win by decision at +275. You’d be hard pressed to find a fighter as tough as Glover, and I think that will be on full display on Saturday.

He hasn’t lost via KO/TKO since May 2017 against Alexander Gustafsson, and that KO came in the fifth and final round of the fight. Three of his five losses inside the UFC came via decision, including his last title fight against Jon Jones.

Blachowicz gets it done, but this fight goes the distance.

Pick: Blachowicz via decision +275
