We knew heading into the Nets-Celtics series, that it was likely going to be the best first round series of the year. The star power on each side, combined with the drama between Kyrie Irving and the Boston fans, was always made to be a great show. And did we ever get a show.

Irving went off for 39 points and Jayson Tatum scored 31 points plus the game-winner. Kevin Durant lagged behind with 23 inefficient points.

However in Game 2, all of their player props for points are fairly close, so let’s dive into who is the best bet for tonight’s matchup.

Player Props For Nets-Celtics Game 2

  • Kyrie Irving: 28.5 Points (Over: -130/Under: +100)
  • Kevin Durant: 29.5 Points (Over: -130/Under: +100)
  • Jayson Tatum: 31.5 Points (Over: -105/Under: -125)

Let’s start with the Nets players. While Kyrie is always a good bet, especially with the motivation of silencing the entire TD Garden, Kevin Durant is my pick tonight to be the scorer out of those two. Durant shot terribly in Game 1 and barely got to the free throw line. I know Tatum did a good job of defending him, but I trust Durant to return to form. This entire season has been a display of how unguardable Durant is. He’ll bounce back and score 30 tonight.

That leaves us with a Tatum vs. Durant competition. For just two more points, you can get a much better price for Tatum to be the leading scorer, and I’m not hating that pick. In fact, I’ll back Tatum to be the top scorer tonight.

Brooklyn doesn’t have anyone to put on Tatum that can stop him. In his last five games against Brooklyn, he’s played his normal 35 minutes in three games. In those games, Tatum has scored 30 twice and 50 once. In last year’s series against the Nets, Tatum had a 30-point game, a 40-point game and a 50-point game.

He clearly likes this matchup and has games on games of why he should be the best bet for tonight.

PICK: Tatum OVER 31.5 Points
