Jets vs. Colts Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for NFL Week 9
By Matt De Saro
NFL Week 9 kicks off on Thursday night with an AFC showdown between the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts. The Jets will be heading into Lucas Oil Stadium coming off a win, which is something that can rarely be said. But, the Jets managed to beat the Bengals on Sunday 34-31 to secure their second win of the season. The win was actually impressive due to the Jets mounting a late-game comeback from a double-digit deficit. Despite that win, the Jets are still the worst team in the NFL in terms of scoring and have roster issues left and right. One bright spot was QB Mike White who threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns.
The Colts enter this game with a similarly disappointing 3-5 record but, and hanging onto the second spot in the AFC South rankings. The Colts have the talent on paper but have not been able to make the most of their roster. Issues at quarterbacks have also been holding this team back for a while now. Their current QB, Carson Wentz, basically threw the game away last week against the Titans, throwing two ill-timed interceptions in the overtime loss. The first was taken to the house for a pick-six while the second set up the Titans game-winning field goal. Here are the odds for this Week 9 matchup between two teams in need of wins, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Jets vs. Colts Prediction and Pick
Before last week, I would have taken the news that Zach Wilson would miss this game as a bad sign for the Jets. After last week’s performance by White, I am second-guessing my doubts about this kid. In his first NFL start, White looked great to be honest. He went for over 400 yards, a few touchdowns, and really limited his mistakes. I realize he threw two picks, but they weren’t disastrous. Especially or a guy making his first start. That is important moving forward because Wilson completed almost as many passes to the opposing team than his own. If White can reel in those mistakes and keep his yardage up, we might be seeing a lot less of Wilson this season. The Jets are still one of the worst teams in the league but showed me a lot by rallying to beat the Bengals in Week 9.
As much as I like the feel-good story of the Jets and White coming into Indy and winning their second game in a row. I’m more inclined to believe this was a desperation win and that the Jets will fall back to earth and get beaten but a better Colts team. I do worry about the QB situation in Indy, but, the Jets are just that bad that I am willing to ignore that for this week and hope Wentz holds it together for four quarters.
Prediction: Colts -10.0 (-110)
